Getting Ready

Before you start your trip we recommend that you review our Travel Tips section to see if you can find any useful information. In order to travel to Rocky Point (Puerto Peñasco), you need a valid USA Passport or a USA Passport Card authorized by the US Department of State to travel by land/sea (www.travel.state.gov). As for children under 16 years of age arriving to USA from Mexico may present a birth certificate (original or copy). And, if child is traveling with only one parent or under the supervision of an adult, they must present a notarized parent permission document (authorization to travel) (www.puerto-penasco.com). When packing your luggage please have in mind there are customs regulations for both entering Mexico and coming back to the USA. Basically, when entering Mexico tourists are allowed to bring in personal effects duty-free according to the length of your stay. In addition to clothing, personal effects may include one camera, one personal computer and one cell phone. As for new merchandise, U.S. citizens entering Mexico at land borders can bring in gifts with a value up to $75.00 (be prepared to show receipts) duty-free, except for alcohol and tobacco products. Getting To Rocky Point

Allright, so you have a passport and all your luggage is ready. Next, all you have to do is give us a call to book your special trip or catch one of our departures to Rocky Point. We will be departing from Phoenix and start heading West on I-10 towards Rocky Point. It is a trip of approximately 3.5 hours/215 miles. We will take you all the way to downtown Rocky Point. Our drop-off location is located at Lazaro Cardenas between Niños Heroes and Sinaloa. Once in Rocky Point, it should be fairly easy to get around as there are many cab drivers available 24/7.

 

Relax and Enjoy Rocky Point!

There are several beach landscapes to enjoy in Rocky Point ranging from soft fine sand to more rugged and rocky seascapes. Playa Hermosa is a good choice to enjoy the beach as it stretches down from Sandy Beach towards town. However, you should be able to rent jet, banana, and horseback rides in any of the beaches. El Mirador is the area to go for restaurants, sports bars and nightclubs while Old Port is the place to shop for fresh seafood/souvenirs. The top choice to stay while in Rocky Point is Hotels, however, many people prefer to relax and enjoy privacy by renting a home or resort.
